Corner Campus Update
Dear Good Shepherd Family,
Over the next six weeks we will return to our popular Without Limit series on the Holy Spirit that we began in February 2009. Together, we will explore the power and majesty of the Holy Spirit working in us, around us, and in our church body. Throughout the series, I will also be sharing with you the Church Council’s vision for our new Corner Campus (formerly Hollywood Video) and the Without Limit growth of our church. I look forward to sharing these messages with you with a spirit of excitement and expectation that God is forming us into a Without Limit church filled with Without Limit people.
Sincerely,
Talbot Davis
What Is Without Limit 2.0?
Without Limit 2.0 is both a message series and a capital campaign. The message series is a continuation of the popular Without Limit series on the Holy Spirit that we began in February of 2009. The capital campaign will help us to become, literally, a church without limits as we add the Corner Campus to our facilities.
What Is The Corner Campus?
The Corner Campus is the former Hollywood Video Building in the

What Will We Use The Corner Campus For?
Quite a lot!
In September of 2009, the Corner Campus will become the home of our Sunday night BigHouse Student Ministry. Having a dedicated space for our students will allow that ministry to flourish and grow.
We will also use the Corner Campus for Pathfinder launch events as well as large scale seminar classes.
Our goal is that by September of 2010, we will use the Corner Campus as overflow worship space for our

So The Capital Campaign Will Help Pay For The Yearly Lease. Anything Else?
Yes. As part of Without Limit 2.0 we will reinvent the current Multi-Purpose Room. Using mobile design pieces, we will add stage, lighting, and décor to make the MPR into a more child-friendly environment. This transformation will create an irresistible environment for our youngest worshippers on Sunday.
Because the design pieces will be portable, we will still be able to use the MPR for wedding and funeral receptions as needed.
We will also use the funds to eliminate our current debt load of $1.3 million.
How Much Is The Lease
The rates vary over the five years life of the agreement, but the average is $100,000 per years, or $500,000 total.
Why Is The Church Doing This In The Middle Of A Recession?
The short answer is that we want to be a Without Limit church empowered by a Without Limit Holy Spirit.
The longer answer is that we are in a place of financial health. Because of prudent planning in recent years, we have funds on hand to pay the first year’s lease without any impact on the operating budget.
In addition – and in a way that God alone deserves the credit – the recession has not impacted our giving. In fact, weekly giving is well up in 2009 over 2008.
So What Are You Asking Of Me?
Without Limit 2.0 invites the people of Good Shepherd to a one year commitment of sacrificial giving over-and-above what you give to the General Fund.
We believe that God will move among the already-generous people of this church. We further believe that $350,000 between May of 2009 and May of 2010 is a reasonable goal. Think of it this way – if 400 households gave $20 per week to Without Limit we would reach and exceed that goal. That’s a Chick Fil-A meal for a family of four!
These funds will help us pay for the lease in the years to come, upfit both the Corner Campus and the Multi-Purpose Room, and reduce/eliminate our debt.
