FAQ's

This Fall we are making some changes to our programming to more effectively minister to middle & high school students.  Have questions about how things are going to work?  Check out our FAQ's below:

1) What will HS students do on Sunday mornings?
HS students can attend one of the worship gatherings with their family and/or choose to serve on a Sunday AM ServeTeam.  These teams include First Impressions, Worship Arts, GS Kids, GS Nursery or even in the MS gathering. Serving is an opportunity for HS students to have responsibility, interact with other generations and build connections outside of their peers.

2) Will there be opportunities for MS & HS to be together?
Yes! Winter Retreat and SRV CLT will continue to be open to all 6-12th grade students. In addition we will hold all student worship gatherings a couple times a year as well as some special events like our annual Christmas party.

3) Is Sunday the only day students will ever get together?
No. We will hold a few fun events weekday evenings for Middle School and each Student LifeGroup will be planning social events periodically throughout the year.

4) How are Student LifeGroups changed in this process?
They will be shorter in length and the discussion questions will come from the teaching they just received in the large group portion.  Otherwise, they will be the same as before.  Each group will have at least one adult leader and those leaders will engage with the students in their group during and outside of our regular programming.  Each Student LifeGroup will also host several parties throughout the year to have fun and make memories together.

5) How will students be assigned to a Student LifeGroup?
Just like before, students will be assigned to a Student LifeGroup based on their grade and gender in MS and based on their grade in HS.  These groups will not change week to week like table groups, but be consistent throughout the year meeting with the same leader and in the same location each week following the large group gathering.

6) How can parents be involved in student ministry?
We love parents and we love it when parents get involved with the student ministry.  There are opportunities for parents to serve occasionally in our cafe on Sunday AM or PM, as chaperones for special events or even as a Student LifeGroup leader.

7) How will the MS experience at 10 AM differ from the one at 11:30 AM or at Zoar?
Each of our MS experiences will have the same content and teaching.  The major differences will be in the opening activity and there will be no regular live worship for the 11:30 AM or Zoar experience.
